OUR STORY

Justine and Jaylynn Mink, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, grew up with a deep appreciation for their Native American heritage. Their grandfather, Darel Nakai, taught them about Navajo culture, family, and traditions, taking them to Native American reservations and enjoying fry bread with their great grandmother. Inspired by their Native Artistry, the girls developed a love for Native American jewelry, passed down through generations in their family. However, they noticed a lack of representation and acknowledgment for the Native artists behind the pieces.

Driven by their passion for jewelry and their culture, Justine and Jaylynn decided to address this issue. They put their dreams on hold temporarily while Jaylynn completed her degree in Native American Studies and Justine pursued a career in high-end jewelry in New York City. In 2022, they finally established Sacred Native Co, a brand that aims to honor their heritage and promote Native artists.

In spring 2023, the sisters began collaborating with Native American silversmiths, hat makers, and artisans to create unique pieces using various materials and natural elements. Each item is meticulously crafted with attention to detail and a deep respect for ancestral traditions. Sacred Native Co ensures that clients have the opportunity to learn about the artisans, their tribal affiliation, and the intent behind each piece, as Justine and Jaylynn believe this transparency is essential.

Inspired by their Navajo heritage, the sisters have also ventured into silversmithing and creating their own jewelry. They remain dedicated to honoring their ancestors and culture, hoping to inspire others to do the same through their creations.
