Sacred Native Co is proud to feature Cameron Curley, a talented artist and fourth-generation silversmith hailing from the Navajo nation in New Mexico. Born and raised within the rich cultural heritage of his people, Cameron's passion for his craft began to bloom during his junior year of high school under the tutelage of his esteemed grandfather, Leon Kirlie Sr. Guided by his grandfather's wisdom and expertise, Cameron embarked on a transformative journey.

Leon imparted his knowledge, emphasizing the importance of keen attention and dedication, stating that he would only teach Cameron once. This instruction fueled Cameron's determination to master the craft, ensuring that he absorbed every detail.

Drawing inspiration from the enchanting beauty of Mother Nature, Cameron's artwork reflects his deep connection to the natural world and his profound grounding in his indigenous roots. He seamlessly blends traditional silversmithing techniques with contemporary designs, breathing new life into age-old traditions while maintaining the integrity and authenticity of his Navajo heritage. 

Continuing the family legacy, Cameron has become known for his exquisite hand-rolled squash blossoms, a signature style closely associated with his grandfather. Through his work, he honors the legacy of his ancestors while infusing his unique artistic voice, resulting in jewelry that is both timeless and captivating.

As an established artist, Cameron's message to aspiring artists resonates with the power of hard work and dedication. Born and raised in a small Navajo town called Klagetoh, Arizona. Shaun is half Hope, and half Navajo. Shaun's first big show was at the Heard Museum in 2016 for his paintings. He sat next to Harrison Jim sr, and was told that his painting designs would look good on jewelry. This inspired Shaun to start silversmithing. In  2017 Shaun went down what he calls “the turquoise trail” learning everything he possibly could about turquoise and silversmithing.

He started collecting turquoise,  and building his collections. Shaun never practiced on copper or brass, he went straight to silver. His first piece was a turtle fetish, very advanced for a first timer. 

Shauns goal has always been to  be an artist. He takes inspiration from artists like R.C. Gorman, Charles Loloma, and Boyd Tsosie.

His goal is to be among the best, he’s always had a deep love and appreciation for art. Shaun credits art, and his family for saving his life. In addition he feels it has brought him back after a long struggle with addiction. Shaun now has five boys and one daughter, with his amazing partner. He still finds time to create full time, making pieces that leave us speechless.  

He inspires all those around him, with his kind demeanor and friendly smile. His extensive knowledge of turquoise and silversmithing, is something we value greatly at sacred native. Shauns style is unique in its own way, contemporary, modern yet also traditional. His one message for up and coming artists, or anyone wanting to create:

“Success starts with you, if you’re dedicated to what you want to do in life, go for it. If you have people that see the potential in you, that should be enough motivation to pursue what you want to do.”

Lynn Traylor, an accomplished artist and visionary, is the mastermind behind Auntie Creations - a platform dedicated to crafting exquisite and meaningful art for generations to come. Lynn Traylor, a proud member of the Diné community, carries the ancestral lineage of Hastłishnii born for Tááchiinii, with Tłaaschií as her Cheiis and Tłaaschií as her Nalí. Originally from the captivating landscapes of Black House Mesa, New Mexico, Lynn now calls the vibrant city of Phoenix her home.

As an Indigenous artist, Lynn's expertise lies in the realm of wearable art beadwork. She was introduced to the art of beading at a young age under the guidance of her father, Edward Mark, who imparted the skills of loom and peyote stitch techniques. Over time, Lynn's passion for beading flourished, leading her to explore the art of flat beadwork.

For Lynn, beading serves as an artistic sanctuary, offering solace from the demanding nature of her work in criminal prosecution for domestic violence cases. Every creation that Lynn brings to life is imbued with the essence of hozhó, embracing harmony and positive intentions.

"Creating Generational Art for All" is Lynn's heartfelt mission, inspiring people from all walks of life to embrace and cherish wearable art. Each piece she meticulously crafts undergoes a sacred blessing ceremony with cedar, ensuring it is ready to be adorned and cherished.
